Timișoara has the Traian Vuia International Airport, which hosts well-connected routes to major European hubs, including Frankfurt and Munich (Lufthansa, several flights per day), Paris (WizzAir), London (WizzAir), Bucharest (several airlines), and, in the summertime, many more EU destinations.
It takes 20-25 minutes to reach the city center from the airport by taxi. When taking a taxi from the airport, make sure to check the price list before getting in, as the airport service may also include private license holders. A typical price is 60 lei (€12) to the city center. It is also possible to order a ride from a local taxi company through the corresponding app (e.g., Taxi Tudo). Please be aware that many drivers only take cash payments. Alternatively, you may order a ride via Uber or Bolt, where you can pay as usual via the app.
There is a regular bus service from the airport to the center („Bastion” stop, express bus E4) and another one to the train station („Gara de Nord” stop, express bus E4bar)
The conference will take place at the West University of Timișoara, which is located within walking distance from the city center.
