Description

Besides many famous mathematical contributions, Charles Hermite always defended computational and effective aspects in mathematics. His name is linked to many algorithms: Hermite polynomial interpolation, Hermite reduction in symbolic integration, Hermite-Padé approximants, Hermite normal form in linear algebra, etc.

We will review some modern algorithms in computer algebra that crucially rely on ideas and algorithms introduced in Hermite’s works.
