Description
The practice of domain decomposition methods is often confronted with a certain lack of robustness or optimality, especially in the framework of large deformation elasticity with highly heterogeneous materials, curvilinear subdomains, incompressible behavior, and contact. We design a general method to guarantee a prescribed convergence ratio for a wide class of domain decomposition methods, through the automatic computation of a proper coarse grid using local eigen-problems. This work has been performed in collaboration with Nicole Spillane, Frédéric Nataf, Victorita Dolean and Daniel Rixen, and is illustrated on specific cases.
