Instability phenomena are recognized as an important feature of the study of fluid dynamics.
In recent years, the case of geophysical fluids, covering a wide range going from oceanography to astrophysics, has attracted the attention of an always increasing number of physicists and mathematicians.
This workshop, co-organized in Rome by the LYSM, IRL CNRS-INdAM, and the Accademia Nazionale delle Scienze detta dei XL, brings together mathematicians and physicists around the problem of instabilities in fluid mechanics. It will include two morning mini-courses and several afternoon research talks leaving a wide time for discussions.
Mathematical, experimental and numerical results will be presented in order to exchange methodologies in an interdisciplinary dynamic.
