The scientific community has warned politics for about fifty years about the consequences of our lifestyles on the environment, and by extension on mankind itself. As the topic is wide, we will mainly focus on global warming and carbon footprint. The question of our impact as researchers, and the position one can take in our professional context will be central. On that regard, we invited Maël, a PhD student at the neighboring research lab IRIT, who will share the reflections and actions they are carrying to tackle their environmental footprint. The discussion will finish with a more interactive part, aiming at debating about the effectiveness and difficulty of different possible actions.
