Description

Objectives
This summer school (of CEA-EDF-INRIA type) focuses primarily on physical, mathematical and numerical aspects of electromagnetic wave propagation in fusion plasmas with strong background magnetic fields. The models are highly anisotropic, which is crucial to the mathematical theory.
Main topics will include advanced models, modern algorithmic
discretization, and numerical resolution of wave models with varying
coefficients since it is a bottleneck for future simulations.
This meeting will also be a great opportunity to discuss other modern
challenges in waves in plasmas, as well as various aspects of anisotropic wave propagation in different environments.

How to come :

The meeting will be hosted by the LJLL, in the Jussieu campus of the UPMC. The main entrance of the campus is on the "place Jussieu".

The lectures and the talks will take place in the Seminar room of the LJLL. It is the room n. 309 in the corridor between the towers 15 and 16, on the floor n.3.

A map of the Jussieu campus indicating the LJLL (and the subway lines to come to the university) is available here : www.ljll.math.upmc.fr/fr/informations-pratiques/article/plan-d-acces
