This school, which is part of a CIMI semester on Control Theory, is dedicated to the study of issues relating to the control theory of partial differential equations. It follows on from the two ‘Control, Inverse Problems and Spectral Theory’ schools held in 2023 and 2025. The aim is to provide both a theoretical and numerical perspective on this highly active field of research through lectures delivered by internationally recognised experts, aimed primarily at students in the final year of their Master’s degree, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career researchers interested in these topics. The first course will address the numerical aspects of the topic, such as control construction or source reconstruction in a context similar to inverse problems. A second course will focus on controllability problems for certain classes of equations defined on graphs. The third lecture will focus on equations modelling fluid-structure interactions, and the underlying issues of controllability and stabilisation. Finally, the last lecture will provide an introduction to Carleman inequalities, which are a ubiquitous tool in control theory and inverse problems.
