We are happy to organise the workshop KEN.
We welcome all participants to the workshop, but registration is mandatory.
The aim of the KEN project is the mathematical analysis of non-linear time-dependent problems arising from physical models, partial differential equations, finite-dimensional systems or numerical schemes. The main idea is to bring together mathematicians from a priori distant horizons - partial differential equations, dynamical systems and numerical analysis - around a single scientific theme centered on changes in variables. Depending on the field, this involves the explicit or non-explicit construction of normal forms, preconditioners, diagonalizations or transformations to simplify systems, their analysis and numerical processing. The main equations considered are non-linear transport equations found in kinetic theory and fluid mechanics, dispersive wave equations, discrete models (posited on networks and/or discretized in time) as well as equations with forcing (such as KEEN waves in plasma physics). Questions addressed range from rigorous analysis of stability results to the description of weakly turbulent mechanisms. The tools used come from PDEs, dynamical systems and the analysis of discretized models in connection with efficient numerical simulation, but all are based on good choices of explicit or constructible variables, which is the focus of this project.
Location and time
The workshop will take place for June 10 to 13 June 2025 in the Pétri-Turing room at INRIA Rennes.
