Independence in NSOP_3 theories

Simon (2020) gives an amalgamation property for invariant types with the same Morley sequences. While NIP and simple theories satisfy this property for very different reasons, it is open whether it is true for NTP_2 theories. However, a similar property turns out to hold for a class of theories thought to be very different from NTP_2 theories: NSOP_3 theories with symmetric Conant-independence. While previously, little was known about the theory of independence for NSOP_3 theories, this suggests that it must be different from that of NSOP_4 theories.
