On the projection structure of the time-discrete Green-Naghdi model

Reduced models of the water wave equations are essential for coastal engineering applications issues such as sediment transport and wave energy converters.

Many of these dispersive models, and in particular the Green-Naghdi model, have inherited from the incompressibility constraint a projection structure onto a set of admissible solutions.

We will see how we can use it to its advantage for many numerical and modeling problems: entropic stability, high order schemes, boundary conditions.

Finally, we will focus on the steady states of the model and propose a well-balanced numerical strategy able to preserve them.
