Quantitative unique continuation and applications to inverse problems

Unique continuation generalizes the well-known analytic continuation for holomorphic functions to solutions of more general PDEs. In this talk we will review this property for both local and nonlocal operators, focusing on its quantitative version. We will also see its crucial role for Runge-type approximations results and how it leads to stability results for inverse problems.
