Description

I will discuss the plane Cremona group, that is the group of birational transformations of the projective plane, over perfect fields with an emphasis on finite fields. I will present a set of generators and describe it explicitely for the "extreme case", the field with two elements. Over this field, strange things occur... As an application, we show that the plane Cremona group over the field with two elements is generated by involutions.
