Description
The goal of my talk is to study bifurcations of canard cycles in planar slow-fast systems of differential equations using fractal analysis.
The talk has two parts. In the first part, we introduce basic definitions of fractal dimensions (box dimension, lateral dimension, fractal zeta function, etc.), on one hand, and we define basic mechanisms that can produce limit cycles in the planar slow-fast setting (jump, slow-fast Hopf, canard cycles etc.), on the other hand.
In the second part, we combine the above theories and develop a new fractal method for detecting the number of limit cycles and the type of bifurcations Hausdorff close to canard cycles.
