MM* estimates and distances between convex bodies

The mean width and mean norm are two fundamental geometric parameters associated with convex bodies. In this talk, we present optimal estimates for these quantities which are obtained when the body is placed in isotropic position. We will also discuss how these estimates yield a bound on the diameter of the non-symmetric Banach–Mazur compactum, optimal up to logarithmic factors. The talk is based on two papers, one of which is joint work with Bo'az Klartag.
