(Multi-Time) Wave Equations on Bruhat–Tits Buildings

We introduce discrete partial differential equations on Bruhat–Tits buildings, which are non-Archimedean analogues of Riemannian symmetric spaces. In this setting, invariant differential operators are replaced by averaging operators, also known as Hecke operators. The study of (multi-time) wave equations, following ideas of Brooks and Lindenstrauss, has applications to arithmetic quantum unique ergodicity.
