In this talk, I will introduce the main objects in complex dynamics: the Fatou and the Julia sets. The Fatou set is where stable dynamics take place, whereas the dynamics in the Julia set are chaotic. Understanding the orbits in the Julia set is, in general, complicated. However, if we restrict ourselves to the boundary of a Fatou component (i.e. a connected component of the Fatou set), the problem is much easier, since the dynamics is related to the dynamics inside the Fatou component, and strong results can be proven, which I will explain throughout the talk.
