Description

In the last twenty years, a lot of attention has been dedicated to models of two-dimensional random geometry. Among these models, one has a particular role: the Brownian sphere.

In this presentation, I will present the history behind the Brownian sphere, and its link with models of discrete geometry. This history will involve combinatorics, probability, and geometric considerations. I will also present several intriguing properties of the Brownian sphere.
