The large N factorization is the most striking (and useful) feature of matrix field theories. While not proved, it has been generally assumed that a similar factorization holds in the case of tensor field theories. In this talk I will show that in fact this is not the case: for Gaussian random tensors the factorization does not hold in general, but only for sub classes of observables. I will then briefly discuss the implications of this result. This talk is based on joint work with Felix Joos and Benny Sudakov.
