Description
A study of Newton's mathematical archive allows us to examine in detail the role of algebra and calculus in Newton's work. In my talk, I will reconsider the pervasive role of ‘analysis' in Newton's mathematics, which is often seen as biased towards geometry, a role already noted by Marco in his seminal monograph 20 years ago.
