Fano varieties with large pseudo-indicies

Abstract: In this talk, we will consider the classification of high-dimensional algebraic varieties. In the first part, I will briefly explain the history of algebraic geometry, including minimal model theory, for non-specialists. In the second half, I will focus on Fano varieties, which are one of the building blocks of algebraic varieties, and will particularly explain my recent works on the classification of Fano varieties with large pseudo-indicies.
