In the theory of correspondences, homomorphisms of Jacobians are represented by divisors on products of curves, making this theory very useful for computing explicitly homomorphisms of Jacobians. In this talk, I will present the theory of correspondences, including the definition of homomorphisms induced by correspondences on the divisor groups, Picard groups, and Jacobians of curves.
