Workshop on derived foliations
Dates : 16-20 november 2026
Location : Aussois (centre Paul Langevin)
This workshop will introduce the theory of derived foliations, through mixed graded algebras, as well as their applications to derived Poisson geometry and complex analytic geometry. The event is intended for participants interested in derived geometry (in characteristic zero), without necessarily being experts.
The workshop is primarily based on the book Derived Foliations by Toën and Vezzosi. We plan to study the following topics (see references below):
- Basics: an introduction to the homotopical framework of mixed graded algebras and derived de Rham cohomology, with the goal of understanding derived foliations on derived stacks.
- Derived foliations in complex analytic geometry: questions of analytic integrability and the existence of a leaf space.
- Derived foliations in Poisson geometry: the AKSZ construction, which relies on the correspondence between Poisson structures and symplectic derived foliations.
Practical Information
The workshop will take place at the centre Paul Langevin in Aussois. Since the number of participants is limited, registration is mandatory. We expect to provide partial financial support for some participants.
Please note that the center opens on Sunday evening and closes on Friday evening. It is not possible to stay overnight from Friday to Saturday.
How to Get to the Center
The nearest train station is Modane; the center is approximately 9 km from Modane station. We plan to organize a few shuttle services between Modane and Aussois, adapted to the train schedules.
The workshop is funded by the ANR LieDG.
