Pseudo-Cauchy sequences and increasing families of valuations

In this talk, we will give an overview of some topics in Valuation Theory and explore the valuative tree.  We will write a parametrization of the space of valuations over a polynomial ring K[x] using pseudo-Cauchy sequences, which are classical objects in Valuation Theory. In order to achieve this parametrization, we will study the supremum of an increasing family of valuations.
