Presentation of the programme
Quantum cryptography lies at the intersection of cryptography, quantum information, and computational complexity. Quantum technologies offer new cryptographic possibilities, while also changing our understanding of which security guarantees and computational tasks are achievable. Recent developments have revealed deep connections between these areas, but many fundamental questions remain open.
This programme will bring together researchers from theoretical computer science, mathematics, cryptography, and quantum information. It will explore three closely connected directions: information-theoretic foundations, including quantum communication, nonlocality, randomness, and device-independent security; complexity-theoretic foundations, including quantum proofs, verification, reductions, and computational assumptions; and computational and interactive primitives, including commitments, zero knowledge, secure computation, and protocols involving quantum devices.
Through an introductory school, seminars, focused workshops, informal discussions, and extended research visits, the programme aims to develop a common language across neighboring communities. It will provide opportunities for sustained collaboration between senior and junior researchers, encourage new research partnerships, and help identify important directions for the next stage of quantum cryptography.
