Description

Experiments with pedestrians show that both the geometry of a corridor and individuals' motivation to reach their target quickly have a strong effect on the overall dynamic in a crowd. I will present micro- and macroscopic models capturing these two effects, discuss their analysis and how they can be calibrated against experimental data. The resulting simulations reproduce key qualitative features observed experimentally, and I will discuss the dynamics and analytical properties of the underlying equations.
