Description

Free probability is a theory of probability for non-commutative random variables - such as random matrices - centered around the notion of free independence. I will present our recent work with Benoît Collins and Razvan Gurau on the generalization of this theory for unitarily invariant random tensors. I will first present the construction of free cumulants for tensors, and then the resulting formulation of tensorial freeness in terms of asymptotic moments.
