Curvatures as topological invariant
Any connection on a vector bundle possesses a curvature. The aim of the talk is to introduce this object as a deep topological invariant. Its trace is a complete invariant of line bundles and its determinant controls the existence of a nowhere vanishing section on the underlying vector bundle.
