Mathematicians excel at abstraction; they articulate precise mathematical properties, construct abstract objects with these properties, and study them. In this pursuit, it can be extremely helpful to build special examples and understand them thoroughly-including through visualization. The presentation will feature examples of visualization useful in mathematical research, from the experience of the speaker and others.
