Description

Aaron Abrams: Illustrating (with) configuration spaces

A configuration space is a mathematical creation designed to capture all of the information about a system that has multiple potentially complicated and interacting parts. As a mathematician, it is easy to forget how clever, abstract, useful, and even ubiquitous this idea is. How can we illustrate these objects, and how can we use them in illustration? [No background with configuration spaces will be assumed.]
