Description
We present a stochastic model for the movement of a helium particle in a graphite channel. Specifically, we develop a semi-Markov model to represent Knudsen diffusion in this context. The stationary distribution of the model is derived, and its asymptotic properties are analyzed. To validate the model, we compare the theoretical results with Monte Carlo simulations. Additionally, we propose estimation methods for parameterizing the model and demonstrate its application using Molecular Dynamics simulation data.
