Description

Speaker: Andrew Simpkin from the University of Galway

Abstract: Data arising from sensor technology are now common across diverse fields (e.g. medicine, agriculture, sports, manufacturing). Multivariate data streams, measured from several sensors concurrently, present a myriad of complexities for statistical analysis. In this talk I'll highlight some key methods in functional data analysis which can be used to fully harness such data, and provide a number of ongoing examples in sports science and medicine.
