Description
Among the hundreds of thousands of clay tablets that have been found by archaeologists in the soil of Mesopotamia, about 2,000, mainly dating to the first half of the second millenium BC, have a mathematical content. In this presentation, I will try to show what it means for an historian to work on these sources and which clues we can gather to get a picture of the reasoning practices behind their writing.
