Quantum trajectories are Markov chains modeling the evolution of a quantum system subject to indirect repeated measurements. The purification theorem by Kümmerer & Maassen says that, asymptotically, a quantum trajectory either reaches the set of pure states or gets trapped inside ‘dark subspaces’, where it performs a random walk. We shall discuss invariant measures for this random walk between dark subspaces, as well as invariant measures for the quantum trajectory itself. This is joint work with T. Benoist and C. Pellegrini.
