rst part of the talk there will be described some lower bounds for the max
imum of functions representable as convolutions of bounded probability den
sities on the Euclidean space\, together with the extension of these bound
s to the Renyi entropies. In the second part\, we focus on more sensitive
non-uniform upper bounds of such functions and discuss some applications t
o the central limit theorem and to the scheme of Bernoulli convolutions.\n
