Convergence estimates for approximate solutions to nonlinear conservation laws

In this talk, which is not the subject of my own research, we will give an introduction to numerical approximations to nonlinear conservation laws and we will try to see how convergence estimates can be obtained in various cases, and whether these estimates are optimal or not. We will try to start with very basic definitions and will probably only cover results that are classical for the audience familiar with these subjects.
