On the statistics of the perimeter of a discrete Gaussian Random Field

We are interested in the study of the perimeter of level sets of digital images. We first proceed to the construction of an estimator for the perimeter that does not take into account the border effects. Then, considering a discretized version of a Gaussian random field, we focus on studying the statistics of this geometrical feature as well as the information that it retains about the nature of the field.
