DESCRIPTION:The Balescu-Lenard equation describes the thermalization of a
spatially homogeneous plasma. As the Landau equation\, it can be seen as a
Fokker-Planck equation arising from grazing collisions of particles. Cont
rary to the Landau equation\, the Balescu-Lenard equation takes into accou
nt dynamical screening effects. We will discuss the meaning and significan
ce of dynamical screening\, as well as Guo's argument for proving well-pos
