The Balescu-Lenard equation describes the thermalization of a spatially homogeneous plasma. As the Landau equation, it can be seen as a Fokker-Planck equation arising from grazing collisions of particles. Contrary to the Landau equation, the Balescu-Lenard equation takes into account dynamical screening effects. We will discuss the meaning and significance of dynamical screening, as well as Guo's argument for proving well-posedness. This is a joint work with Mitia Duerinckx.
