DESCRIPTION:An origami torus is a finite union oftriangles in space which
makes an embeddedtopological torus\, such that the sum of the anglesaround
each vertex is 2 Pi.  Origami tori areintrinsically flat\, and for a lon
g time peoplewondered about the fewest number of triangles(or\, equivalent
ly vertices) needed to make one.In this talk i will explain myfairly recen
t result that you can build an origami torus with8 vertices but not with 7
. I will also discuss thestate of the art on this question\, highlighting
evenmore recent results that I am involved in. Thetalk will have some nice
  computer demos.\n\nhttps://indico.math.cnrs.fr/event/17389/
