DESCRIPTION:Artificial Intelligence is revolutioning most human activities
\, and research is no exception. Recent breakthroughs have shown that AI i
s nowadays capable of\, for example\, proving theorems. We believe that it
is important for every young researcher to have a working knowledge of AI
.  \nThis one-week school will cover most of the fundamental concepts. It
is designed for PhD students and early career researchers in mathematics
and theoretical physics who are not specialized in AI. There will be lect
ures and lab sessions.\nTopics covered (one day per topic)\n\n\nFundamenta
ls of AI: deep learning\, neural networks. Lab session: training a simple
neural network from scratch.\n\n\nGenerative AI / LLMs. Lab session: fine-
tuning: adapting a pre-trained LLM to a specific task\n\n\nAI-assisted res
 earch\, agent-based AI\n\n\nFormal methods. Lab session: using LLM agent\n
\n\nEthical\, legal\, environmental and industrial  aspects of AI\; limit
ations of AI\n\n\n \nList of lecturers:\n\n\nFrédéric Marbach  (Dépar
tement de mathématiques et applications\, École normale supérieure\, Pa
 ris)\n\n\n \nScientific Committee:\n\n\nGérard Biau (Sorbonne University
)\n\n\nClaire Boyer (University of Paris-Saclay)\n\n\nDjalil Chafai (Dauph
ine\, Paris Sciences et Lettres)\n\n\nXavier Fresquet (Sorbonne University
 \, Abu Dhabi)\n\n\nArnaud Guillin (Clermont-Auvergne University)\n\n\nMarc
Lelarge (École normale supérieure)\n\nEmmanuel Sérié (Ecole Polytechn
 ique)\n\n \nOrganising committee\n\n\nJérémie Bouttier (IHP)\n\n\nMaria
