  ergodic theorem of the frontier of branching Brownian motion (BBM). Our a
 pproach relies on two main observations: pairs of extremal particles obser
 ved at well-separated times must have branched early\, and pairs of early-
 branching extremal particles have negatively correlated positions. We will
  show how this yields the ergodic theorem for BBM and extends it to a broa
