DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Nicolas CURIEN (Université Paris-Saclay)\n\nI will
survey recent developments concerning the geometric properties of random h
yperbolic surfaces. While in low genus a clear connection with random plan
ar maps has recently emerged\, the geometry of random hyperbolic surfaces
in large genus remains largely mysterious\, despite significant progress o
n the spectral side. Starting from the breakthrough work of Maryam Mirzakh
ani on Weil–Petersson random surfaces\, I will discuss what is known abo
ut typical geometric features of such surfaces.\n\nhttps://indico.math.cnr
