DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Stephane Gaubert (INRIA and Ecole polytechnique)\, Q
uentin Merigot\n\n \n\n \nWe will discuss recent progress in understandi
ng the uniform measure on high-dimensional convex bodies\, focusing on adv
ances toward the Kannan-Lovász-Simonovits (KLS) isoperimetric conjecture\
, as well as the resolution of Bourgain’s slicing problem and the thin-s
hell conjecture.\nThe study of uniform measures on high-dimensional convex
bodies provides a testing ground for powerful analytic methods with appl
ications in broader mathematical contexts. These techniques include spheri
cal and Gaussian concentration of measure\, convex localization\, optimal
transport with the Monge cost\, Bochner identities and curvature\, heat fl
ow\, and stochastic localization..\nThe first part of the course will be d
edicated to background on geometric phenomena in high-dimensions. In the s
econd part\, we will study in detail the heat evolution of log-concave mea
sures using the Brownian interpretation and pathwise methods.\nFeb 5-6\,
