DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Nazim Khelifa (IHES)\n\nI will present a general met
 hod to prove existence and density for the metric topology of points\, in 
 the base of a (pure or mixed) variation of Hodge structures\, at which the
  corresponding fiber carries non-generic Hodge tensors\, using tools from 
 functional transcendence and o-minimal geometry. I will then present some 
 consequences on bounds on the dimension of images of period maps associate
 d to pure variations of Hodge structures. This is partly joint work with D
