DESCRIPTION:Models of materials physics constitute a classical motivation 
 and field of application for nonlinear analysis. A central example of this
  interplay is the analysis of weakly differentiable manifold-valued maps. 
 This conference will bring together mathematicians who work on models from
  materials science\, and specialists of related objects in theoretical non
 linear analysis. It aims at promoting the newest questions and methods fro
 m both sides\, and at strengthening the historically fruitful exchange of 
 ideas between these two areas. It will also be the occasion to celebrate P
