DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Caterina Gregorio from the Karolinska InstituteTitle
: Modeling Aging Trajectories Through Multistate and Latent Models\nThis s
eminar will be in English\nAbstract: In this seminar\, I will share my rec
ent research on multistate modeling approaches to better understand aging
and disease progression\, and introduce my current Marie Skłodowska-Curie
project. Through a simulation study\, we have assessed how different curr
ently employed methods perform when applied to multistate models for panel
data\, where intermittent observation poses significant challenges—part
icularly in aging research. Building on this\, we have also explored setti
ngs where states are latent\, such as in the study of multimorbidity patte
rns\, capturing how chronic conditions cluster and evolve over time.My mos
t recent project\, LETMEAGE\, shifts the focus to geroscience and aims to
model aging as a complex system. Through a joint latent modeling framework
\, I seek to integrate biological\, phenotypic\, and functional dimensions
of aging to develop novel metrics that support personalized predictions a
nd inform preventive strategies for healthy aging.\n \nCalendar subscript
