 nk most of us have\, even if it's just from that one friend we all had dur
 ing our Masters who discovered about them and immediately went nuts. But d
 id you know categories are just the beginning? Enriched categories\, monoi
 dal categories\, model categories... so many other things we can do! In th
 is talk\, I will try to introduce a few different categorical tools and co
 nstructions via the toy example of the Derived Category over a ring. I wil
 l discuss how to localize a category\, and how to localize it correctly\; 
 define dg-categories over a ring\, and use them to compute the Derived Cat
 egory. And if time allows\, I will delve into how dg-categories are not pe
 rfect either\, and how my work has been geared toward improving them.\n\nh
