  we study the problem of computing the minimal differential equation satis
 fied by a chosen coordinate. We give a bound for the Newton polytope of th
 e support of such an equation and show that our bound is sharp in "more th
 an half of the cases". We show the algorithm bases on this bound and demon
 strate that our implementation of the algorithm can tackle problems which 
 are out of reach for the state-of-the-art software for differential elimin
