Description
During the 19th century, the study of holomorphic functions led the mathematicians to the notion of Riemann surfaces, that are spaces on which we can define holomorphic functions. A natural question is classification : how can we distinguish two different Riemann surfaces and how many different ones are there ? The aim of this talk is to give some insights for classification of compact Riemann surfaces, especially the ones that have genus 1 (i.e the ones that topologically "look like donuts").
