An overview of the Grothendieck--Katz p-curvature conjecture

I will introduce the Grothendieck--Katz p-curvature conjecture by some examples, and give an overview of the main known cases until now. If time permits, I will also discuss the related Cartier's descent theorem from the viewpoint of faithfully flat descent.
